Background

Reimagine Southdale will revitalize the property at Southdale and Millbank. This community is home to over 500 tenants. Throughout the three-phase project, the site will be upgraded to a total of 265 units, including 98 townhouses and 167 apartments. Existing townhouses are being upgraded with new siding, roofing and outdoor improvements.

Slated to take place over the next decade, Reimagine Southdale will not only improve access to affordable housing but also enrich the Southdale community. This initiative will help to cultivate community through a focus on family units, community space and accessible programming for all.

  • 53 purpose-built units (35 net new units) with 20% accessible units. The unit breakdown is:
    • 1 Bedroom Accessible – 1
    • 2 Bedroom – 17
    • 3 Bedroom – 30
    • 4 Bedroom – 5

Investment

This multi-million dollar development is possible because of the contribution of the following investors:

  • The City of London, as part of the 2020 – 2023 Multi-Year Budget.
  • Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)

Important Milestones

  • Zoning Bylaw Amendment: submitted to the City in 2025 and approved in 2025
  • Existing Townhouse Demolition: 25 existing townhouse units were demolished in July 2025 to prepare the site for construction
  • Topping-off Event: LMCH (including the Board of Directors), Mayor Josh Morgan, City of London Administration, and the Southdale Community, celebrated a construction milestone in June 2026.
