Road Work Near LMCH Main Office: What to Expect

What's Going On?

Phase 3C of the East London Link and Municipal Infrastructure Improvements is now underway. This will result in lane restrictions on Highbury Avenue North between Oxford Street East and the north limit of the Highbury Avenue North overpass. Reduced lanes will also be in effect along Oxford Street East from just a few metres east of the Highbury Avenue intersection to near Wistow Street.

How Will You Be Impacted?

The construction may result in traffic and delays that could affect how long it takes you to get to the LMCH main office

Driving:

Highbury Avenue North and Oxford Street East will remain open to traffic with reduced lanes in each direction until approximately December 2024. Drivers are advised to expect delays and are encouraged to use navigation apps such as Waze and Google Maps to find alternative routes when possible.

Taking Transit

Some LTC stops along these sections of Highbury Avenue North and Oxford Street East will be impacted during construction. Transit riders are encouraged to visit the LTC website for the most up-to-date information.

Walking:

Wayfinding signs will be installed around the site to help pedestrians navigate safely around the construction zone. Sidewalk access will be maintained on at least one side of the road at all times during construction. If you have questions or concerns about how your visit to the office might be affected, get in contact with your CRW.

What is the East London Link?

The East London Link is a multi-year project that will revitalize more than 6 km of road from Downtown to Fanshawe College. Remaining phases of the East London Link will be built between 2024 and 2025. The project will add transportation and transit improvements above ground, while repairing and replacing aging sewers, watermains and other underground infrastructure.

The work on Highbury Avenue North (Phase 3C) will include above ground improvements to add centre-running bus-only lanes and enhanced rapid transit stops, as well as active transportation elements at the Highbury Avenue North and Oxford Street intersection. As part of this project, there will be a mix of underground works and hydro relocations.
