Community Safety Unit personnel are licensed Security Guards and/or Private Investigators by the Ministry of the Solicitor General and governed by the Private Security and Investigative Services Act.

- Complaint/Active Subject Control (Handcuffing)
- Expandable Baton
- Sharp-Edged Weapons Defence
- Situational Awareness
- Mental Health First Aid
- Trespass to Property Act
- Residential Tenancies Act
- Child and Family Services Act
- Criminal Code of Canada
- Charter of Rights and Freedoms
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
- A combination of internal and external training programs on poverty, addictions, cultural awareness and humility, diversity and inclusion, unconscious bias, and anti-oppression.
